Sue has administered the day-to-day business activities of MSTA since 1996, and manages all aspects of its annual conference that attract 2,500+ attendees each spring. She is honored to work with a very dedicated board of 52 teachers and educators who are totally committed - "to stimulate, support, and provide leadership for the improvement of science education throughout Michigan."

MSTA has the 3rd largest state science conference in the United States. They also are the 2007 winner of the MSAE Diamond Award for excellence in Meeting & Expositions for budgets under $500,000. MSTA also received the 2007 Best in Show award given for the entry with the best score irrespective of the size of the organization or the competition in any give category.

Sue is an active volunteer in the American Red Cross, Toys for Tots and the Michigan Humane Society.

In her spare time Sue enjoys traveling to Florida and or Hawaii, baking, quilting, and a wide variety of crafts. In the winter months she enjoys bowling, and in the summer months you can find her at Milan Dragway almost every weekend. Sue, along with her husband Ken, enjoys taking their 1965 Ford pickup to the track to see it do 11 seconds down the quarter mile. Sue's husband recently retired from UPS after 30 years of service, and is looking forward to joining him in retirement so they can travel to some race tracks around the country and to do more traveling to Florida and Hawaii.
