Marcy is a Spartan! She attended Michigan State University for a BA degree in Hotel, Institutional, and Conference Management and received her Masters of Business Administration from Wayne State University. She is a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) and has been a trainer for the State of Michigan to help other meeting planners achieve their certification. Marcy achieved her Certification for Association Executives(CAE) in July of 2007. The CAE program serves to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of association management. Marcy enjoys sharing her knowledge and expertise with her fellow staff and association members.
Marcy has twenty years experience in meeting and association management. She has worked all over the country in the convention hotel management, association management, and corporate meeting planning. She brings a strong background in meetings management, financial management, membership, program planning, and volunteer coordination. She has been a speaker at various industry conferences for organizations such as Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE), Michigan Meeting Planners International (MMPI), IEEE Engineering Society, Society of Government Meeting Planners (SGMP), Michigan Business Travel Association (MPTA), and local schools.
Marcy likes to stay busy and in addition to work she finds time to volunteer and is a regional coordinator for Oakland County Girl Scouts of America. She is an active member of her church, part time soccer coach, and dance/cub scout/ karate/ music lesson mom. She and her husband Tim have two wonderful children and live in Royal Oak. The family has a little Cairn terrier that is the baby of the family. Marcy enjoys reading, knitting, sewing, and playing math games with her kids. Marcy can be reached at mdwyer@ucia2.com.
